FRENCH READING
ZOOM CLASSES FOR KIDS

BEGINNER AND ADVANCED ZOOM CLASSES

These French lessons vía Zoom are about mastering the basics of reading in French.

Throughout the classes students will participate in various activities to engage in their learning.

I offer two options for Zoom classes for kids.

In my BEGINNER Zoom Classes, students will learn how to decode simple sounds. We will focus on vowel and consonant pronunciation, how to create simple syllables and how to read/write simple words. This is the FOUNDATION for reading and the best way to prepare students for Grade 1.

In my ADVANCED Zoom Classes, we will take this skill to the next level. Here, students will master the basics of French reading.  This will include decoding, sight words and acquiring all French blended sounds. We will continue to work on breaking up more complex words in syllables, as well as reading full texts for meaning and understanding. These classes go hand in hand with what they are learning at school. Each lesson builds upon the other.

My classes are suitable for students learning to read in French as well as for struggling readers that need to review the basics.  The classes will consist of no more than six students.

Classes are offered both in the morning (perfect for homeschoolers) and after school as well as during the summer to prepare for the year ahead.

A downloadable workbook will be provided with the classes.

Students will also need other learning material such as coloured cardboard paper, a small whiteboard and highlighters as they will be doing hands-on activities with these items.

MEET ME, MADAME KARINE

french tutor zoom

I love teaching kids to read.  My valuable teaching experience of over 20 years at French Immersion and Francophone schools has given me the tools to create a step-by-step method to help young students become confident readers.  My live and online classes are designed to keep your child active in their learning by doing hands-on activities throughout the class.  Even though my classes have a format, they are also flexible as I take in all the individual learning needs of the class.  My goal is for the classes to be accessible to all learners.  I look forward to seeing you in class!
