YOUR PRIVATE TUTOR IN FRENCH READING

Teaching and French have always come naturally to me.

Being born in France and doing my schooling in Calgary, at French Immersion schools, lead me to an Education degree, with a minor in French.

 

Upon graduating, I went traveling.  I visited Budapest and landed my first teaching job as a kindergarten teacher at a private international school.  

 

While having my first, own classroom, I realized this was the perfect career for me.  I was learning just as much from the students as they were from me. 

 

When I returned to Canada, I got a job with the Calgary Board of Education teaching first grade at my old elementary school.  It  was in those ten years that I developed my expertise in teaching French literacy skills. 

 

Once I started my family, I wanted to stay home with my two children.  Missing teaching inspired me to start my own tutoring practice.  I tutored for over eight years in my home; helping students in all elementary levels with French reading/writing, math and homework.

 

In time, I went back to teaching.  I subbed both with the Calgary Board of education and the Francophone board.  I also had positions teaching third grade and science in French. 

 

We presently reside in Costa Rica. We came here during our family trip around the world and didn’t want to leave.  I continue to tutor online as well as teach at a private French school, where my children attend. 

 

Teaching kids how to read is my passion.  I love seeing the spark of a learner once they understand how to put sounds together to create words.  It is magic.  Mastering the basics is the key to success. This is my focus.  I believe in teaching students critical step-by-step skills which enable them to become resourceful, persistent and confident readers.  This is why I created these courses and classes online.
